The Principal's Desk
St. Martin's Diocesan School has a rich legacy within the portals of a calm and serene environment, in the heart of the Cantonment area of New Delhi.
The personalities of thousands of Martiners have been polished and shaped by this noble institution which began with a vision by its founder Ms. Helen D. Jerwood in 1960.
When the Bishop of the Diocese of Delhi, the Chairman of this beautiful institution handed me its reins last year, I stepped into the noble vision of our Founder, to tasks yet unaccomplished.
I am inspired by the saying 'if you want to shine like a sun, first burn like a sun', I strongly believe that to achieve, we need to be filled with an innate passion and preserve as we face the toughest challenges. It is then that we understand our hidden reserves of courage and resilience.
Great teachers emanate out of knowledge, passion and compassion. Light begets light being the school motto, we work with ignited minds to lovingly build up the self esteem, dignity, and the physical and emotional well being of each student within this peaceful school campus, preparing the child to be an advocate of peace and a harbinger of hope in the school and beyond. It will be our continuing endeavor to motivate and empower our students to reach their potential and to provide an atmosphere for their multifaceted development. Where there is righteousness in the heart, there is beauty in the character. Therefore we take care to instill strong values in our youngsters to mould and equip them to be beautiful tools to humanity as they journey in the pursuit for excellence.
